Museums & Galleries to Check Out:
University Galleries at Illinois State University
As a student of Illinois State University, I have gained much knowledge and inspiration from the University Galleries from local artist, other students, and artists from all around the world. I have also had the opportunity to have some of my own artwork displayed here. University Galleries is a unique oportunity in the Bloomington-Normal area to experience world arts without going far from home. I encourage all of my students to visit the galleries as frequently as possible.
McLean County Art Center
Another one of my favorite local hang-outs, the McLean County Art Center offers a wide range of opportunities for artists. Local artists frequent the gallery walls contributing to the very local feel of the MCAC. Art classes are also offered for the young artist throughout the summer.
Art Institute of Chicago
For obvious reasons I have included the Art Institue of Chicago's website. Such a incredible resource lies just a few hours north. In addition to the expansive opportunites the AIC offers, their website proves extremely useful in the classroom as well.
