Baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph get a face lift as the art club helps restore the paint on the Community Center's nativity scene. Special thanks to the Lexington Kiwanis for the supplies! This year we had 8 students and 9 artworks accepted to the McLean County Art Center's Annual Amateur Art Show! It is very exciting to have such a high number of students get work accepted to such a prestigious show. I encourage you to stop by and check out their work if you are in the Bloomington-Normal area; the show will be up until April 20th. The students who had work accepted to the show are: -Courtney Tracy -Bailey Noland -Joshua Moncelle -Chase Payne -Tyler Smith -Logan Elias -Bridget Mohr -Blake Anderson Congratulations! Proud art teacher as always! :) March is Youth Art Month. Lexington students have been participating in several activities to celebrate art education in our school. We came up with a design based on this year's theme: "Designers & Dreamers for a Brighter Tomorrow." We incorporated all the content areas in to our design to reflect how all aspects of education make for a better future. We also included inspirational quotes for each content area! Our hope is to make this month full of creativity and beauty throughout the school. ENJOY! |
